Retarded Man Tries to Save Thailand

On Thursday morning, Mueang Chonburi Police Inspector Pol. Lt. Pracharat Un-suk were called to investigate a Robbery at the Siam Commercial Bank. The bank was the New Market branch in the Mueang District of Chonburi. The robber had already been apprehended by the bank’s security guard, and soon identified as Mr. Surasak Sae-tahng, age 24 from Ayudthaya province.  The poor fellow was obviously a retarded man.
He was only wearing shorts, and shouting that he needed 10 million baht to save the nation after the flooding.  When questioned further, he changed his story, saying he needed the money to build a house instead.
His robbery method was rather unique; he walked straight up to the bank officer’ counter, and grabbed a basket full of money, some 640,000 Baht and strolled out of the bank.
He was arrested by the guard on duty, and his family was contacted. The family stated that he had recently driven a motorcycle from Ayudthaya to Sriracha, in order to leave in the city, and he is indeed a retarded person.
